Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education degree with a concentration in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Education degree in School Administration from PUCCAMP, a US accredited University. She was a licensed Psychologist in her home state of Sâo Paulo, BR.


Elaine came to United States 18 years ago with clinical and educational experience acquired when working in the grass roots movement to end violence against women in Campinas, Sâo Paulo. Following her passion for social justice, Elaine started her career developing support groups for women victims of violence, and for parents with children at risk of abuse and neglect in favelas. She also worked as an elementary school teacher for many years helping unprivileged children in working class communities.


In the US, Elaine has accumulated more than 10 years of experience in the DV/SA field. Using her first language, Portuguese, as a tool for advocacy. Elaine is constantly engaging with the Portuguese-speaking immigrant population in MA assisting in all accessible services. ​​​
