Give Hope, Give Healing

NOVEMBER 23, 2018 |

This November 27th, join the movement and give – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, gift or the power of your voice in your local community.  #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Every year there are opportunities to get #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday deals. For us at The Center for Hope and Healing, we believe that what we get is what we give! In this year of #MeToo, our work is more important than ever.  We see you and we recognize YOU—our big generous community of volunteers, Board members, donors, supporters and friends who #GiveHope and #GiveHealing all year long.

Meet Ibilola Ademodi

Lola at the JDI Advocacy Training with Maureen Gallagher and Isa Woldeguiorguis February 15 2018 Jane Doe Inc.

“My name is Ibilola Ademodi. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I am Nigerian-American and I came to the United States to pursue a graduate degree, a privilege I do not take for granted. Being given the opportunity to further my education to a graduate degree level is one that not many Nigerians are [privileged] to have. A combination of lack of resources and little to no regard for sexual assault victims has led to the ineffectual approach to tackling sexual assault in Nigerian Communities.

Hearing about CHH and being given the opportunity to volunteer with them opened my eyes to the possible ways that I could not only utilize my skills but also give back to my community. The level of commitment, love, engagement and investment shown to me, has enabled me to not only volunteer but also serve as an intern for my final year practicum; it has been a rewarding and humbling experience. Advocating for survivors every day is fulfilling for me. Knowing that I have been able to advocate for a survivors through referrals, resources, counseling is an experience second to none.”

Meet Two of Our Board Members

Marianne Fleckner
Tim Hirbour

“The effects of sexual assault and what it does to the victim and their family and friends is often devastating to watch. For me, it was my friends from college and a family member. I wanted to learn more about we can help stop sexual assaults and rape by education and how I, personally, can give of my own time towards this cause.
I have been a Board Member for approximately 7 years now, and CHH is one of the most caring and dedicated non-profit human service organizations with which I have been proudly and humbly associated. I encourage everyone to learn more about the great work of CHH!”
-Marianne Fleckner

“I joined CHH’s Board of Directors because I’ve seen the negative effects of sexual assault personally. An ex-girlfriend was molested by a relative at a very young age. I’d like to be a small part of the positive story of recovery.
It also certainly sends a message to my kids and my nephews; that sexual violence against women is unacceptable and what’s nice is that message is delivered at a very young age.”
