The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. Receives $10,000 From Eastern Bank To End Child Sexual Exploitation

AUGUST 23, 2018 | LOWELL, MA – The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. (CHH), whose vision is a world free from sexual violence, received a $10,000 Targeted Grant from Eastern Bank to support children and youth impacted by and at risk of commercial sexual exploitation. CHH Executive Director, Isa Woldeguiorguis says, “We are excited to increase our capacity to provide services to youth, particularly girls of color who are at greatest risk. We also look forward to sharing information and resources through our ongoing work as the co-chair of The Taskforce to End Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children.” CHH recently launched a new program to serve children 12 and under where counselors work with parents and caregivers. Other CHH services include a 24/7 hotline, medical and legal advocacy, support groups, and prevention/educational workshops in schools and the community. The Targeted Grants have been designated to support organizations addressing a range of issues that disproportionately impact women, such as sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, health care, pay equity and senior management and board representation. In total, Eastern Bank has disseminated $1.7 million in Targeted Grants this year
